The garden is built entirely over the structural slab separating it from the multi-storey car park below.
So the challenge has been to create inner-city private open space for a single family using a green roof technology. Given the limited the soil depth available the swimming pool was designed with a raised plinth, which encloses the dedicated deck and pool house.
The planting secures all-year interest with the extensive use of evergreens, a dedicated ericaceous border with Camellia japonica and C. sasanqua, and a raised vegetable garden.
